Story
In May this year, myself and my colleague Sarah from Diamond & Sons Funeral Home will be taking on the Sussex Marathon Challenge — a 26-mile walking marathon from Turners Hill to Brighton. The second half of the London to Brighton Utra.
This will be a huge physical and mental challenge for both of us, but one we’re proud to be doing in support of an incredibly important cause: Oakhaven Hospice, our local hospice that provides vital care, comfort, and compassion to patients and families when they need it most.
Oakhaven Hospice is a cause that is very close to our hearts. Over the years, both of us have had friends and family cared for by Oakhaven, and we have seen first-hand the compassion, dignity, and support they provide, not only to patients but to loved ones too.
Through our work, we are privileged to support families at one of the most difficult times in their lives. Our roles are rooted in respect, care, and dignity, and in helping people through their loved one’s final journey. Hospices like Oakhaven play an essential part in that journey too, ensuring individuals are cared for with kindness, dignity, and compassion right to the end, while also supporting the families around them.
We each need to raise £225, and every donation — no matter how small — will help us reach our target and support the incredible work Oakhaven does for our community.
Thank you so much for your support, encouragement, and generosity. It truly means more than we can say 💛
