D.I.Blow Opticians Fundraiser for Fight for Sight

Raising money for Fight for Sight

Imagine being told that you, or someone you love, is losing their sight. In that moment, two profound questions demand urgent answers: Can this be stopped? How will I live my life? We fund the brilliant minds and bright ideas, putting change in sight for everyone impacted by vision loss.

Story

In 2026, we’re taking on not one, but two big challenges, all in honour of D.I. Blow Opticians turning 50 years old.

To mark 50 years of caring for the Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire community, we wanted to do something that reflects that milestone. So, between us, we’re covering 50 miles through various challenges.

First up, Callum will be running the London Marathon on the 26th of April. 26 miles through the streets of London. Months of training, early mornings and tired legs all lead to one incredible day.

Then, on the 31st of May, a team of keen volunteers from D.I. Blow Opticians will take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Together, we’ll be climbing Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in a single day, around 24 miles of walking and over 1,500 metres of climbing.

The London Marathon plus the Yorkshire Three Peaks equals 50 miles; one mile for every year of D.I. Blow.

In addition to these 2 Challenges, another group of staff members will get together every weekend for a month to walk a total of 50 miles this summer! Paired with multiple coffee and cake sales across our practices!

We are also attending and running a couple of car boot sales to raise further money for Fight For Sight. We are gratefully accepting donations to help the cause.

We have an incredible team at D.I. Blow Opticians collaborating together across multiple challenges and events, all in aid of the same cause. All challenges are about pushing ourselves, working as a team, and giving something back in a year that means so much to us.

Every donation, big or small, will help turn this 50th Anniversary Year into something very special.
