Story
Doddie Weir was a sporting hero for many on the rugby pitch. What he subsequently did off the pitch and the legacy he left with all his efforts to raise awareness and funds to support Motor Neurone Disease research, and support for those living with this dreadful disease, following his own diagnosis were extraordinary.
Some of us have supported the annual Doddie Aid challenge over the years and this year My Name'5 Doddie Foundation is the chosen charity of Macdonald Lewis Associates.
The Dickson/Macdonald/Roberts clan are taking on The Kelpies Experience whilst raising vital funds for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. For those that might think " oh a nice morning doing something fun", that could not be further from the truth as at least two of us have a fear of heights... the difference is we can do these things whilst others cannot! So, on Saturday April 5th, Andrew, Elaine, Fiona, Stuart and I will be taking ourselves out of our comfort zones to do this, climbing up inside a Kelpie to support the work of My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. It is personal as we have seen the impact on friends and family members living with MND.
We know times are tough but if you fancy skipping a coffee, beer, glass of wine, packet of crisps etc over the next couple of weeks and instead popping what you would have spent on that to our fund raising, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance from the five of us :-)
