For 200 years, discoveries made at Manchester have changed the world. But for everything that’s already been achieved, there’s much more left to do. You’ll make sure the best researchers bring us closer to solving our world’s biggest challenges.

Story

After meeting at RunWild running society at the start of the year, Pedro and I decided to become those maniacs running at 6am in the bracing Manchester rain. Having completed an unofficial marathon earlier this March, we want to end our year (Pedro’s last at Manchester) with an official event raising money for a good cause!

Whilst being a city world-renowned for its music and football, discoveries made at Manchester over the last 200 years have changed the world.

But for everything that’s already been achieved, there’s much more left to do. Cancer continues to tear families apart. Millions of people live without clean water and the climate emergency threatens the future of our planet.

Every day, incredible research is going on here at Manchester to help solve these enormous issues. From cancer to stroke, climate change to global inequality - experts are searching for answers. But they need help to make it happen faster.

With your help, brilliant people will be able to explore big ideas and uncover new, life-changing discoveries for the benefit of us all.

So please join us in supporting Manchester's life-changing research by sponsoring us today.

Thank you!
