We are a small but mighty team of seven runners, running for reading! We're raising funds to support Doorstep Library, an amazing children's charity which recruits and trains volunteers to work directly with families and children in disadvantaged London boroughs to instil a love of reading in the home. We know that reading fires imaginations and minds, encourages curiosity, builds confidence, helps children make sense of the world around them and gives them the tools to communicate who they are in ways that matter to them.

With 1 in 10 children not owning a single book, 1 in 4 11-year olds leaving primary school unable to read or write and fewer children reading for pleasure, our volunteers take books and reading directly into the home, supporting families to read together and create an environment where reading for pleasure is part of everyday life.

We're running for reading, to enable children to write their own stories; to give children living in inequitable circumstances an equal chance.
