Story
Hello from the Dorset Running Buddies!
We’re the Dorset Running Buddies (or DRBs if you’re into abbreviations) – a group of women brought together by a shared love of running and a healthy dose of friendship and laughter. Over the past nine years, we’ve clocked up countless miles together, from morning jogs to four epic weekend running challenges, all purely for the joy of it. And joyful they were – imagine stunning countryside, great company, and the best support crew a bunch of sweaty runners could wish for!
But this year, our challenge has a deeper purpose.
We’ve decided to lace up our trainers for a cause that means a great deal to us – the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). Last year, Philip Armstrong was diagnosed with MND. Philip’s sister, Caroline, is one of our founding DRBs – so this run is not only in support of a brilliant charity, but also a heartfelt tribute to Caroline, Philip, and their family.
We’ll be running 62 miles over 3 days, from Ashmore to Lyme Regis, along the Wessex Ridgeway and some of Dorset’s most beautiful (and hilly!) terrain. It’s a big challenge – but one we’re proud to take on.
We would be incredibly grateful if you’d consider donating. Knowing we’ve got your support will help keep us going when the blisters set in and the morale runs low! Every penny really does make a difference – funding vital research, as well as care and support for those affected by MND.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
With love and running shoes,
The DRBs xx
