Duchy College Poppy Run 2025 - For Callington and District Royal British Legion (TAA01)

Raising money for The Royal British Legion

The RBL are the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the British Armed Forces and their dependents.

Story

The Military and Protective Services students at Duchy College Stoke Climsland are proud to support this year’s Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, for Callington and District, Royal British Legion (TAA01)

On 11th November, our students will take on a tough endurance challenge: completing a 1-mile loop as many times as possible in 2½ hours. This test of resilience, determination, and teamwork reflects the very qualities shown by those who serve in the Armed Forces.

Each student will also be individually raising funds to help us reach our target. Last year, our Poppy Run efforts raised around £8,800, and as a district we contributed to a grand total of £26,900.

To push themselves even further, some students will be adding extra challenges such as carrying weight or wearing military kit. One example of this is the osprey body armour, weighing around 20kg, the same kit that one of our staff members wore in Afghanistan.

We are raising money to support the vital work of the Royal British Legion, who provide lifelong support to serving and ex-serving personnel and their families. Every pound donated helps to make a real difference.

Please give what you can – big or small – and help us honour the sacrifices of those who came before us, while supporting today’s Armed Forces community.

Thank you for your support. Lest we forget.
