Story
With 50% of the Due North Team terrified of heights, we thought it’d be a good idea to kick off our team fundraising efforts with an abseil down Aberdeen’s Royal Children's Hospital.
This stands proudly at 100ft so our abseiling challenge, known as Archie Abseil is not one for the faint hearted– how could we refuse?!
Why Support Us?
Close to Our Hearts: The Archie Foundation
Operating across Tayside, Grampian and the Highlands, The Archie Foundation provides a variety of exceptional care and support services to transform medical experiences and their outcomes for babies, children and their families.
The charity’s aim is to ensure all children across these regions have equal access to world-class healthcare and bereavement support, this includes:
- Supporting Maternity and Neonatal Services
- Specialist Training and Equipment
- Creating Child-Friendly Environments in Hospitals
- Financial Support
- Providing Hospital Accommodation
- Archie’s Child Bereavement Service
- Supporting Play and Providing Toys/Activities including special guest visits.
- Providing support and resources to Allied Health Professional teams.
The Archie Foundation is close to our hearts, as a team, we’ve all been through challenging times where we’ve been sick ourselves, visited ill family members in hospital or sadly lost loved ones – it's an incredibly tough and often stressful experience which unfortunately many people will be able to relate to.
We can only begin to imagine how it must feel for those who have sick or dying children, or have sadly lost a child, and know that the incredible work that The Archie Foundation does means that those in that situation will have access to the support they need.
