Story
Team members Caroline Andrew Julie Claire and Marie Anne Kieran Euan and Emily
In 2026, we’re lacing up our boots, pulling on our tartan, and taking on the Kiltwalk as a team — a family — walking with purpose, pride, and a whole lot of love. We’re walking to honour our Dad, Papa, friend, and father‑in‑law, John McDowall.
A man who meant the world to us.
A man whose strength, humour, and kindness shaped our family.
A man we miss every single day.
During his illness, Marie Curie were there for him — and for us. Their nurses brought comfort, dignity, and calm at a time when everything felt overwhelming. They supported our Dad, our Mum, and our whole family with compassion we will never forget. This walk is our way of giving something back.
Every step we take is for him.
Every mile is a thank‑you.
Every donation helps another family feel the same support we did.
To put it into perspective:
£23 could pay for one hour of vital nursing care. £200 could fund nine hours of nursing support for a family in need.
Those hours matter. We know that first hand.
So we walk — for John, for Marie Curie, and for every family who needs a hand to hold during the hardest moments. If you choose to support us, you’re helping keep that care going, and we’re incredibly grateful.
