Story
We are taking on The Big Golf Race to help raise money and awareness of prostate cancer, to keep men in the game for longer. We are playing 72 holes of golf in one day. We are starting our first round at 4.00am in the morning and expect to be finishing on the last hole by 9.30pm at night. We will be walking an estimated 21 miles with each of us hitting approximately 360 golf shots (but hopefully less....and sadly, maybe more!). No buggies are permitted so each golfer will be carrying their own golf clubs on each separate round of golf. A golf bag, with full clubs weighs in at approximately 10kgs. This is not going to be fun in the sun while playing golf. We're expecting this to be very challenging.
The incredible staff at both Essendon Country Club and Brocket Hall have each stepped up and provided their courses for the challenge. Thank you to them all for their assistance in making this happen and for contributing to this great charitable cause.
Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That’s thousands of dads, brothers, partners, grandads, mates, sons and uncles, not to mention the many slicers, hookers, duffers, bandits and champs. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Your donation will help fund lifesaving research to find better tests to diagnose men sooner. Thank you for your support.
