The Challenge
Ecosurety staff are on a mission to combat global packaging waste and support communities worldwide. On June 12th - 13th, a dedicated team of 25 individuals from Ecosurety will embark on their annual Walking Challenge in support of WasteAid. This gruelling hiking expedition spans 50km of all types of terrain.
As a proud B Corp committed to making a positive impact, Ecosurety are excited to take this challenge, following their huge success in the Welsh 3000s hiking challenge in 2024.
What Ecosurety’s Efforts Are Supporting
WasteAid’s vision is of a world where waste causes no harm and where people are empowered to recover its value. Since 2021, WasteAid has delivered 25 programme interventions in 10 countries, positively impacting nearly 1.4 million people. Your support will help to build inclusive circular economies, support green jobs, reduce waste pollution and create a brighter future for all.
Why?
• 1 in 3 people globally lack access to basic waste services and each year 9 million people die of diseases linked to mismanagement of waste and pollutants.
• Poor waste management worsens climate change, disease, poverty & ocean plastic pollution.
• Local solutions are needed to create jobs, improve health, and protect the environment.
The urgency of waste management has never been greater—one in three people worldwide lack access to waste disposal services, leaving them no choice but to dump or burn waste. This has catastrophic impacts on human health with 9 million people dying every year from diseases linked to mismanagement of waste and pollutants. WasteAid is dedicated to empowering individuals and communities to harness the potential of waste, turning it into a resource to alleviate poverty and foster a cleaner, healthier environment for all.
By donating today, you are helping to empowering individuals to deal with the waste crisis, the effects of climate change and helping to alleviate the effects of poverty. Here's how your donation could make a difference:
- £500: Construct two recycling collection points in rural South Africa.
- £1,500: Fund a composting workshop for 10 Gambian women, supporting livelihoods.
- £5,000: Supports an e-waste Repair & Re-use program in Johannesburg, empowering youth with valuable skills.
- £10,000: Deliver business training for 30 marginalized young women in Uganda, improving communities.
Donate what you can today, and together, let's turn waste into opportunity and build a brighter future.
