Raising money for Shelter

Shelter & Veolia 2025-26
Campaign by Shelter (RCN 263710)
Shelter & Veolia are working together to raise vital funds and awareness to help end the housing emergency. Together, we will transform tomorrow for people facing homelessness and unfit housing across the UK.

Story

🏃‍♀️ 354K Steps for 354K Lives: Walking Together for Shelter 🏃‍♂️

Every day in England, 354,000 people face the harsh reality of homelessness. That's 354,000 individuals - each with their own story, their own struggles, and their own dreams of a safe place to call home.

The ECO (Education, Communications & Outreach) Team at Veolia have decided to turn this stark statistic into action. Throughout September, we're challenging ourselves to walk 354,000 steps each - that's one step for every person currently experiencing homelessness in England.

Whether individually or in pairs, we'll be logging approximately 11,800 steps daily, tracking our progress, and supporting each other every step of the way. But this isn't just about reaching a step count - it's about raising awareness and vital funds for Shelter, who work tirelessly to support those affected by homelessness and poor housing.

Our team goal is to raise £1,500 to support Shelter's crucial work. Every donation, no matter how small, will help provide essential services and support to those who need it most.

Why Shelter? Because everyone deserves a safe, secure place to call home. Your support will help Shelter:

• Provide expert housing advice

• Support people in housing crisis

• Campaign for better housing policies

• Fight for those who need a voice

Together, we can make every step count. Please support our challenge and help us make a difference in the lives of those facing homelessness.

Thank you for your support! 💚
