Story
Help Edith & Sofia Reach Iceland 2027!
In August 2027, Edith and Sofia will be heading to Iceland with Chorlton Scouts for what promises to be the adventure of a lifetime.
The expedition will challenge them to develop independence, resilience, teamwork and confidence while exploring one of the most spectacular countries on Earth. From volcanic landscapes and waterfalls to hiking, rafting and exploring Reykjavík, it will be an unforgettable experience and a huge part of their Scouting journey.
To help fund their adventure, Edith and Sofia are aiming to raise £1,500.
Rather than simply asking for donations, we've decided to earn your support by setting ourselves a challenge.
Between Edith, Sofia and their parents, the six of us will walk and run the equivalent distance from Manchester to Reykjavík before they leave for Iceland on 1 August 2027.
That's approximately 1,625 kilometres (1,010 miles).
We'll be tracking every kilometre as we make our virtual journey across the North Atlantic, with plenty of walks, runs, Scout hikes and family adventures along the way.
Scouting has already given both girls so many opportunities to learn new skills, make great friends and grow in confidence. This expedition is a chance to take that even further, helping them experience a new country, take on exciting challenges and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help bring them closer to Iceland and keep us motivated as we work towards our 1,625km target.
Thank you for supporting Edith and Sofia on this amazing adventure. We really appreciate every donation and every word of encouragement.
