Story
Our family and friends have united to run the Great Manchester 10k Run in memory of our son, Elias Eric Smith.
We lost Elias during our twin pregnancy at 23 weeks due to TTTS (twin-to-twin transfusion).
Twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome is a rare condition that occurs in 10–15% of identical twin pregnancies when there's an imbalance in blood flow between the twins. It happens when identical twins share a placenta, resulting in unequal blood exchange through connecting vessels.
We have decided to run the Manchester 10k to raise funds and awareness of TTTS and implications in twin pregnancies, for Twins Trust in memory of Elias.
We have a big team running together, and we all thank you in advance for your generous donations and giving us that push to get us over the line.
