Story
A team of friends running in support of Danielle and Tom. Read Tom’s story below;
In March 2025, my wife and I experienced something no couple ever truly prepares for – the loss of our pregnancy due to an ectopic pregnancy. It was sudden, it was traumatic, and it was deeply painful. The weeks that followed were some of the hardest we’ve ever faced – physically draining for my wife, and emotionally overwhelming for both of us.
Grief after pregnancy loss isn’t something that’s openly talked about, yet it affects so many families. That’s why the work of the Miscarriage Association is so incredibly important. They provide support, comfort, and community to those navigating one of the most difficult experiences imaginable. Their presence reminded us we weren’t alone – and that truly made a difference.
To give something back and to honour our own journey through loss and healing, I’ve decided to take on the Great North Run 2025, and give my self something positive to do with the trauma. After not running for a long time, it will be a challenge and one I hope you can support.
This run is for every couple who’s felt the heartbreak of pregnancy loss. It’s for the strength of my wife, who’s been through so much. And it’s for the Miscarriage Association, so they can continue to offer the vital support that helps carry people through the darkest times.
If you can, please consider donating to support this cause. Your support will help others feel less alone – just like the Association helped us.
Thank you.
