Story
- 13.1 miles for Anthony Nolan -
Want to join Emily and I in supporting a good cause? Together we are running the Royal Parks half marathon on October 11th to raise money for Anthony Nolan. Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little. Anything helps. Thank you for your support.
As many of you know, Emily works as a paediatric bone marrow transplant nurse in Great Ormond street hospital. A huge part of the job involves administering donor stem cells to children with blood cancer and severe blood disorders. It’s an incredible thing to be a part of, but those transfusions only happen if a patient manages to find a matching donor in the first place.
That’s where Anthony Nolan comes in. They run the UK stem cell register, match selfless donors with people who desperately need a transplant, and fund research to improve survival rates. Without them, the work thats done on the ward simply couldn't happen.
It’s going to be a proper challenge, but it’s for a cause that means a lot to Emily personally and professionally. Anthony Nolan relies on donations to pay for the lab tests required to add new potential donors to the register—so every bit raised genuinely helps save lives.
If you’re able to spare a few pounds to sponsor us, we’d be so grateful.
(And if you're under 30, please take two minutes to look into joining the register yourself—you could literally be someone's match!)
