As part of my 60th Birthday year celebrations, I am trying to do 60 things I have never done before.

I am cycling from London to Paris with a group of cyclists from Standish Cycling Club and arriving in time to watch the last stage of the Tour de France around the Champs-Elysées.

I then decided to add an additional leg, starting from Lille, which is the start of the first stage of the TDF. We will be cycling from Lille to Antwerp, then onwards to Rotterdam before crossing the English Channel to Harwich. Our last leg is from Harwich to Horning Sailing Regatta, arriving on Monday 4th August, for a well deserved rest.

I have chosen two charities:

WIGAN & LEIGH HOSPICE: as I believe it is important to ensure that end of life Care should be with dignity as you only have one chance to do this right.

HORNING SAILING CLUB: because the entire club is run on volunteers & good will. The sailing club was established in 1938 & they offer sailing sessions to local people as well as groups ( Scouts, Guides etc) from all walks of life. They are a charity that is working towards improving facilities to become more accessible to all.
