Everest Three Passes for Nepal Flood Relief

Helping communities devastated by the Nepal floods through the Red Cross.

Nepal has been hit by devastating flash floods, destroying homes, displacing families and leaving communities facing an immediate need for emergency support.

On 23 October, five of us. Graham, Aidan, Niall, Stephen and Luke will begin the Everest Three Passes trek through the Nepalese Himalayas.

After seeing the destruction caused by the recent floods, we decided that this trek should be about more than reaching Everest Base Camp.

We want to use it to raise as much money as possible for people affected by the disaster.

All donations through this page support the British Red Cross Nepal Floods Emergency appeal, helping the Red Cross response in Nepal.

Years ago, I watched a documentary about the devastating 2015 Nepal earthquake and the avalanche that struck Everest Base Camp.

What I saw stayed with me and was one of the reasons I decided that, one day, I wanted to travel to Nepal and experience this extraordinary part of the world.

Now, just weeks before we arrive, Nepal is once again dealing with the aftermath of a major natural disaster.

It doesn’t feel right to simply travel there, walk through these communities and come home.

We want our journey to contribute something.

We’ll tackle one of the toughest trekking routes in the Everest region, crossing:

Renjo La

Cho La

Kongma La

as well as reaching Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar.

We’ll spend multiple days above 5,000 metres, dealing with altitude, cold and long days in some of the highest trekking terrain in the world.

We have paid for the entire trip ourselves. Every donation raised through this fundraiser goes to the Red Cross Appeal.
