Raising money for Queen Elizabeth's Foundation for Disabled People (QEF)

the 2.6 challenge

The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

As a family, we are fundraising for QEF and it would be marvellous if you could lend your support with a donation or just spend some time on their website to learn about what they can do. Charities help fill the gap in care in this country for many people and often struggle to get support.

I have been volunteering in the HR team at QEF for some time. It is a disability that helps those with disabilities with a neuro disability specialism. After my benign brain tumour was debulked in early 2016 I have faced a number of challenges. One of these was driving again and at the QEF Mobility Centre I was able to have an assessment to see if I was safely able to drive again. There are lots of other services including MERU which innovates to find solutions to help disabled children move around or play with toys.

My family have been really keen to get involved and support the charity. Mike has bought a table at their fundraising charity rugby dinner for friends and family to attend. The kids with mum and dad came into the offices at half term to speak to the fundraising team about what they can do and have been developing ideas for cards and a bake sale with friends in Devon this summer.
