Raising money for Cancer Research UK

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

The FireINSPIRE network provides a forum for female employees in Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, to share their experiences and ideas; as well as seek, or provide, peer support with the aim to improve working life across HIWFRS.

The group provides an opportunity for women to discuss highlighted issues and instigate change within the organisation.

The network deals with a range of issues such as fitness, personal development, workwear and has recently put together some guidance on the menopause to support our female colleagues through this period of change, whilst also providing advice for Managers. The group hopes the work they do will improve the working environment for all.

Each year the INSPIRE network look to support Cancer Research with members taking part in Race for Life. Due to Covid19 restrictions in 2020 and again this year we thought we would still take on a challenge, just a little differently this time around.
