Story
My wife and I are taking part in this charity fundraiser to help raise awareness and support for the Epilepsy Society, who help people that live with epilepsy and to give them all the chance and opportunity that it takes from them.
My wife (Laura) has lived with epilepsy all her life, and although she is well managed and happy now, it wasn't always the case. It affects people differently, but it always makes things harder, and prevent you from doing things many of us take for granted. The support the Epilepsy Society gave Laura during her transition between medications and helping to understand her type of epilepsy and how to manage it was invaluable, and without it, she would have suffered through a lot more hardships.
To those that know me, know that I very rarely ask anything of others. But in this case, it is something I am passionate about, and want to help support for the sake of the charity, and for person that means more to me than anything in this world.
I'm aiming to raise £500, for which my employer will match and double the amount. Any amount we raise will be a huge win, and will genuinely make a difference. Remember, in many cases, charity donations are tax deductible in the UK, and many employers will also match your donation. So even donating a small amount makes a bigger difference than you think!
I'm planning on posting updates throughout the month with each large section of miles walked, and to thank those that have helped.
