Story
As our close friend's and family will know, my lovely Mom, Kay Lynch was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in early 2022. Until that point, we, like many people, had been lucky to not have any experience with dementia in our family. The learning curve, for both the sufferer and their loved ones is immense. We were, and still are, so blessed to have the support of the Alzheimer's Society to help navigate this cruel journey. From having easy to digest information to help educate ourselves, right through to having wonderful support workers call me regularly for check-ins and passing on advice, having the Alzheimer's Society guide us on this journey has been incredible.
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.
To in some way play our part in supporting this wonderful charity, we've pledged to walk 26 miles as part of the Alzheimer's Society Trek26 event. Many of you will know we like a nice country walk, but this is a challenge far beyond anything we've previously attempted. With your support, together we can be help and hope to everyone affected by dementia. Every donation, no matter how small, is very gratefully accepted.
Thank you for helping us, it really does mean the world.
