Mersey Tunnel 10K for Chapter Mental Health

We are Team Forward Builders’ Supplies (George, Andy, Jodie, Nick & Simon) and on Sunday 12th April we are running the Mersey Tunnel 10K in aid of Chapter Mental Health 🧡

We spend most days in steel‑toe boots, so this challenge is definitely outside our comfort zone. In the construction industry, long hours, lone working and the 'crack on' culture can make it harder to speak up — we want to help change that by partnering with a local charity that provides real support pathways across West Cheshire.

Why Chapter Mental Health?

Locally, Chapter supports people living with mental ill‑health through one‑to‑one coaching, listening services, group activities, and workplace training. Donations help fuel community initiatives like The Haven — a garden run by Chapter in Ellesmere Port where people connect with nature and take part in wellbeing activities, alongside programmes such as Belong that provides group activities, and RE:SET skills building workshops.

Why does this matter to us?

We are running not only to raise funds, but also to start conversations. Asking for help is a strength. Recovery takes time, support and community — these are things that Chapter provides every day, from practical listening and coaching, to local spaces where people can rebuild confidence and connections.

The challenge 👇

Not all of us are natural runners. Jodie is a complete beginner, and the rest of us are rediscovering our cardio levels the hard way. Training laps around the yard, weekend runs, sore legs — we’re in it together, and we will be sharing our progress on LinkedIn and Instagram.
