Story
Friends of the Hearing Center at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh raises money for programs that support the goal of long term independence for children with hearing loss. Your donations enable children with hearing loss to have access to the resources and support they need. Please give generously to support important initiatives like these:
1. Educational Liaison
Our Educational Liaison works with patient families and professionals to help make complex questions, easier for families of children with hearing loss. This role was established in October 2019 and is funded entirely with money raised through the efforts of the Friends of the Hearing Center.
2. Music to My Ears program
This program was established in 2012 and is a program designed specifically for toddler and preschool age children to improve their listening and speech skills through music. It is free to families.
3. Milestones Program
To be launched in 2021. This program provides age-appropriate products to children with hearing loss to support their growing independence.
4. Therapy Bags
To be launched in 2021. Patient families will receive their own bag of therapy tools to keep and use in their homes. Traditionally these were kept with Early Intervention therapists and taken from home to home. However, in the age of COVID 19, families need their own tools to use during virtual therapy sessions.
