Raising money for Oakhaven Hospice Trust

The Oakhaven Walk 2025 · 17 May 2025 ·

Oakhaven Hospice supports people in our New Forest, Waterside and Totton communities who are facing end of life. We provide support to manage peoples physical, emotional and spiritual needs. With your donation we can really make every moment matter for those who need us most.

Story

In January, Tim began his new role as Fundraising Manager at Oakhaven Hospice. A local charity we have long-supported that provides specialist palliative care and support to those facing life-limiting illness living within the New Forest, Totton and Waterside communities.

The clinical specialists at Oakhaven ease physical symptoms and offer psychological, spiritual and social support and their loved ones in both a home and hospice setting. Care is tailored to suit the needs of each individual and, with a blend of expertise and compassion, the team offers support for people when they need it most.

As an independent local charity, Oakhaven provides these vital hospice services to the local community free of charge. Just 11% of Oakhaven’s costs are covered by the NHS. The remaining 89% of the £9 million it takes to provide vital services each year has to be raised by other means.

Literally stepping up to the first big event of the year, The Oakhaven Walk on Saturday 17th May 2025 along the coastal path from Sandbanks to the hospice in Lymington. Ably joined by wife and partner in crime Sam, they face 26 miles and a whole day in each other's company all to raise essential funds for the charity. All support welcome… and every little helps.
