Story
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.
Our team of 4 is taking on the Trek26/13 challenge this summer with a shared purpose of making a difference for families affected by dementia and Alzheimer's.
Gemma, Yasemin and Isabelle's motivation comes from their grandad/great-grandad, Garfield. After being diagnosed with dementia and seeing the impact of this illness on him and our surrounding family we want to take on the challenge, raise awareness and support other families facing similar journeys.
Calum lost his nan, Nancy, to Alzheimer's in 2025 and this challenge is his way of honouring her memory and helping fund support and research.
We're taking on this challenge as a team, Yasemin and Calum will be walking the full 26 miles, while Gemma and Isabelle complete 13 miles. Every step is in memory of loves ones and in support of those currently living with dementia.
We have a collective fundraising goal of £1,000 for the Alzheimer's Society. Thank you for supporting us, cheering us on and helping us make every mile matter.
