Story

Louis and I, along with Aric, Miranda and Liam, are setting out to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon (the three highest peaks in Scotland, Wales and England) in just 24 hours to raise money for PSPA.

Why? Sadly our Dad, Richard, has been given the life-changing diagnosis of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a rare neurological condition that causes problems with balance, movement, vision, speech and swallowing.

The disease affects only 4,000 people in the UK and with no disease-slowing treatments available, my family has relied on the support of the PSPA, an incredible charity that supports patients like Dad, and families like ours.

On 20th July, the challenge will see us walking for 23 miles and navigating a total ascent of 3,064 metres (over 10,000 ft!) - we’re aiming to do this in under 24 hours. Daf will be driving us over 450 miles between them (big up DJ Daffers).

We’re determined to raise awareness of PSP, and use our experiences to better the life of others who may be affected by this horrid illness & we’d really appreciate your support 💜

PSPA is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of people living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD). We provide information and support for people affected by PSP & CBD whilst funding research into the causes, treatment, and eventually a cure. Together we can stop PSP & CBD in their tracks.
