Story
Following on from our success last year, 9 of us have now signed up to take part in the Swimathon 2020 Challenge on 4 April in support of the work that is done by Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.
Most people will have had dear family and friends whose lives have been taken by cancer. Because it was not diagnosed soon enough, because it was too difficult to treat or because there was not enough experience about what sort of treatment would be effective.
Some of us are regular sponsors for Cancer Research UK, because we feel that a lot more research is still to be done into rare types of cancer so that they, too, can be better managed or even cured at some point in the future.
Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading cancer charity is dedicated to saving lives through research. They don’t receive any government funding for their work, so their progress is all thanks to the support of people like us - and you.
Marie Curie provides expert care, guidance and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. Around 2,100 Marie Curie Nurses work day and night, in people’s homes all over the UK, providing hands-on care to people when they need it most.
If you can spare any money, however much or little, we would be most grateful for any sponsorship received to support those who do research into cancer, who care for those affected by cancer as well as those who are currently fighting their own battle with cancer.
THANK YOU
