We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are taking part in the London Marathon in support of our friend and hockey legend Imran Sherwani who was diagnosed with early on-set Alzheimer's in December 2019, aged just 57.

Last year led by Steve Batchelor, three 1988 Seoul families(including son in laws, nieces and best friends) and colleagues of Steve Batchelor came together to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK and run the London Marathon. This year Ollie and I will be joined by Andy Halliday, Great Britain and England's former men's team manager who is planning to dribble a hockey ball for the full distance, in the latest of his "extreme dribbling" challenges and Steve Taylor, Imran's club and international hockey team mate..

Any funds raised will go straight to the charity and we hope with funds raised for research we can find ways of improving diagnoses and treatments to slow or stop the onset of Alzheimer's. This is turn will mean less individuals and families are impacted.

We are incredibly grateful for any donation you can make to support ARUK. It will be tough on Sunday but we will keep Imran and his family and every other family impacted by Alzheimer's firmly in our minds

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Justgiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate- saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you so much

Helen, Ollie, Andy and Steve
