Great North Run 2026
Campaign by PROSTATE CANCER UK (RCN 1005541 (England & Wales), SC039332 (Scotland))
Prostate Cancer UK's legendary team of runners taking on one of the worlds most iconic half marathons. The Great North Run isn’t just a race – it’s a celebration of community, energy, and endurance.

Story

We (Jeremy, Steph and Emma) are taking on the Great North Run in September 2026 in memory of our amazing dad, Gordon Green, who survived prostate cancer but sadly passed away in 2016. This cause was incredibly close to his heart, and running for Prostate Cancer UK feels like the perfect way to honour him together as a family.

Dad loved staying active, he regularly walked up to 10 miles on his weekly hikes around Newport and the Shropshire countryside, and on some unforgettable hikes in the Lake District. So this challenge is our way of following in his footsteps, raising money for a cause he cared deeply about, and giving our ageing bodies some much-needed exercise.

Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK - that’s someone’s dad, brother, partner or friend. Prostate Cancer UK are working towards a world where men’s lives are not limited by this disease, through lifesaving research and support for men and their families.

Please give whatever you can to this worthy cause and cheer on three ageing siblings as we take on a challenge that may very well make or break us! 💙
