Lizzie, Fiona and Kelly are overcoming their fear of heights to abseil down St Thomas' Hospital to raise money for Evelina London Children's Hospital. The children's hospital was founded in 1869 (as Evelina Hospital for Sick Children) and was situated in Southwark. In 2004 it moved to it's new home, an amazing purpose built children's hospital designed by children and architects together. It's a special place because it provides specialist care to children and young people who live locally and, nationally. It was the first children's hospital to be rated outstanding by the CQC. Families and children really are at the heart of everything at Evelina, you just have to meet the staff or visit to realise (Lizzie may be biased as she works there!).

Evelina is special to us because it has provided specialist support to children close to us. We know children who have needed a tracheostomy , required cardiac surgery for congenital heart disease, been given the opportunity to be in a pioneering drug trial that has reversed their disease and, who have had access to gastro treatments not routinely available to children that's enabled them to be more independent at school and on playdates.

We want to tell you about Evelina and raise money to support the work it does for children, young people and their families. We are aiming to raise £900 but if we can get to £1000 that would be amazing.
