Story
St Leonard’s Hospice provides care and support for people with life limiting illnesses and their families when they need it most, and we’ve been doing it for 40 years. Our patients’ needs are our priority, and our care is designed to make the best of their lives. We provide care at our Hospice, in patients’ homes, and in our community.
We provide care for free, but it’s not free to provide. It costs £7.9 million a year, and just a quarter of that comes from the government. We rely on the generosity of our community for the rest. Your donation means we can be here to help more people in York and surrounding areas when they need us most.
St Leonard's is Guest Walker's charity of the year for 2025 in and in our efforts to help raise money to support the work they do three of our staff; Alison Munro, Louise Elliott and Katie Rowsby will be taking part in the Moonlight Walk on Saturday 13th September.
