A brief time after the barefoot marathon Vic Owens, @thehappyrunnernw took on back in October 2021, we spoke about doing an epic challenge - I had expressed a keenness for such a thing!

Basically Vic proposed that we attempt a barefoot @guinnessworldrecords. The one she’d found was consecutive barefoot half marathons! So… within an hour, it was decided. Applications went in in late November 2021, with the kick off day being March 1st. Although final approval is awaited from Guinness, we are still heading out as of Tuesday 1st March, 2022!

Vic and I, in our respective home areas will attempt to run 31, barefoot halves - one a day, for the month of March. The current mens record is 20… gotta push it as far out as possible, right!? 😆

This will not be entirely for the fun of it, (though we’re both very excited) but Vic and I have both previously run for @younglivesvscancer with @wildrunners_ig and individually, and it was for them that it seemed a good idea to run for.

We are hoping to raise (loftily) £10,000, though any amount would be super; they’re a great charity that helps families impacted by this horrible disease and as family people it seemed a great fit.
