Story
This September, we're taking on the 77-mile Bridge to Bridge cycle from the Skye Bridge to North Kessock to raise funds for Highland Action for Little Ones (Halo), Àban Outdoor, Inspire Project, Disability Sport Highland, Inverness Women's Aid, Outfit Moray and Highland Hospital Radio.
Our team is made up of Lauren, her best friend Rachel, and Rachel's wonderful mother-in-law, Jacqui. Thankfully for us, Jacqui is an experienced cyclist who's completed Bridge to Bridge before and has kindly taken on the role of our awesome coach.
While we can all ride a bike, road cycling has been a whole different world for some of us. It's definitely been character-building! But despite the occasional moan (mostly from Lauren & Rachel), we're genuinely loving the journey. Every ride gets a little easier, and there have only been a handful of moments where we've questioned every life decision that's led us here… usually on a hill!
Halo was founded by Lauren, her mum and her sister with one simple aim: to support children and families across the Highlands. What started as a wee idea has grown into something we're incredibly proud of, and the Bridge to Bridge event and everyone involved have been such an important part of that journey.
If you're able to donate, every pound raised will be shared equally between the local charities taking part. Your support will help make a huge difference to communities across the Highlands and give us that extra bit of motivation when we're 35 miles in, wondering why we ever thought cycling 77 miles was a good idea!
