Story
We have come up with an exciting project to give artists with learning disabilities access to printmaking but need some start-up funds to get it going.
Venture Arts https://venturearts.orgare a very successful and highly respected visual arts organisation based in Hulme in Manchester. It is a happy place where artists with learning disabilities make art for their own enjoyment but also have ambitions to extend their practice, sell work and see it in public exhibitions. Unfortunately, they are restricted by limited materials and equipment inside the centre and need money for transport and support costs if they work outside.
The project is a shared experience between 4 experienced printmakers, based at Hot Bed Press https://hotbedpress.orgin Salford, and 5 Venture Artists. It is to take place over 8 weeks from 29 July 2025. By working together, the artists and art educator will be able to see how designs made by the Venture Artists can be transferred to print and how equipment can be adapted to best suit their needs.
Hot Bed Press have generously donated space in the workshop but without the means to get to get there and money to cover time for a dedicated arts educator, support worker and materials the Venture Artists cannot access this experience. Please help if you can!
We are going to make editions of the work for sale at a prestigious gallery auction next year. Eventually it is hoped to raise enough money to equip a studio at Venture Arts with printmaking facilities that everyone there can use.
A donation will support the beginning of a great new adventure in print. All donations gratefully received. Thank you!!
