Story
450 mile 24 hour charity TTT
This month, together with the Q36.5 CBRE London Racing Team, we took on an epic cycling charity challenge to help Laureus use the power of sport to transform lives and to honour my old Dad, who’s living with Alzheimer’s. Watching him face this disease with courage and grace has inspired me to take action — to raise awareness, funds, and hope for everyone affected by Alzheimer’s

If there is one thing that my Dad has taught me, it’s that life is nothing without kindness, if kindness were wealth then my Dad is the richest man alive. You don’t have to take my word for it, look, you can see it in his eyes. Even now, as he faces the cruelty of the latter stages of Vascular Dementia & Alzheimer's, his eyes, though tinged with sadness, still radiate kindness - he knows I am a familiar face, he still wants to live to look after his children and grandchildren as he has always done so well
It’s our turn now Dad, try not to be scared, we’ll keep you safe, just like you always did with us

I don’t just want to raise funds for dementia research in my father’s name; I want to share some uncomfortable truths. Dementia, and all of its cataclysmic cost and heartache, is too often shut away - out of sight, out of mind. As a society, we’re good at that.
We walk through life unaware that we are often the authors of our own fate. Dementia doesn’t have to be inevitable. .
Stay hydrated. Eat clean. Prioritise sleep. Move your body - really move it. Suck at something new. Ditch the alcohol (yes, any amount is too much). Floss!
The power is in your hands.
You can rewrite your final chapters.”
