Team fundraising for The Birchall Trust

Raising money for The Birchall Trust

The Birchall Trust does incredible work by offering support to anyone aged 4 and above affected by rape, sexual abuse or sexualised violence in Cumbria and Lancashire. What this looks like practically is summarised below. Of course, it is difficult to fit in all the fantastic work that goes on at The Birchall Trust, so please check out the website if you’d like to read more about what they do: https://www.birchalltrust.org.uk/ - Providing face to face and remote trauma-informed counselling services - Delivering play therapy, creative and sand tray therapy for children aged 4 and above - Offering pre-trial therapy sessions to adults and children whilst involved in the criminal justice process - Working with parents, carers, families, and friends of people affected by rape, sexual abuse, or sexualised violence - Holding group, peer support sessions and offer outdoor therapies - Delivering educational programmes, training, and consultancy to other agencies – voluntary and statutory - Providing digital information and resources - Raising awareness of the wider issues around rape, sexual abuse, or sexualised violence within our community Every single donation is important. Every single donation will support The Birchall Trust, helping to ensure no one has to deal with rape or sexual abuse alone.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to read about our half-marathon challenge to raise funds for The Birchall Trust, a cause close to our hearts.

About our challenge:

To fundraise for and raise awareness of The Birchall Trust, at Her Lancaster we decided to organise this half-marathon charity hike! As a womens+ community group, the incredible and much-needed Birchall Trust is a charity close to our hearts and we want to do what we can to help them.

The hike takes a beautiful route, following the coastline and the Lancaster canal in sections. A route map will be provided for participants, which roughly follows the following direction: Silverdale → Warton Crag → Carnforth → Hest Bank → Morecambe. The terrain is a mixture of woodland footpaths, fields, gravel canal paths and paved sections, it has hilly sections and a number of gates and stiles.
