Story
As most of you are aware, a group of staff from Newhouse and Hollingworth are participating in the National 3 Peaks Challenge on the 24th of June which will involve 462 miles of driving, 23.7 miles of climbing and a total climbing ascent of 3064 metres (10,052ft)!
The aim is for us to leave straight from school on Friday and drive up to Glencoe in Scotland.
The fun then starts on Saturday afternoon, where we will start by climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland (1345m).
Once we’ve made our way back down again, we’ll immediately drive to the Lake District to climb Scafell Pike (978m) in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Finally, we’ll be back in the minibus making our way to Wales to climb Snowdon (1085m) on Sunday afternoon.
We’re hoping we can make our climbs (and lack of sleep during the 24 hours) worth it by fundraising to support four very worthy charities that are personally important to members of our group:
SPRINGHILL HOSPICE
BOWEL BABE fund for cancer research
MACMILLAN Cancer Support
MIND mental health charity
The link below is to our justgiving page where you can donate if you would like.
You can choose either one charity or a split between all four.
Any donations are very much appreciated!
