On April 2nd I'm taking part in my first ever marathon at the Brighton Marathon Weekend. I have chosen to raise money for a couple of smaller charities that have directly helped two people close to me.

PMRGCAuk is a charity that supports people with polymyalgia, a type of autoimmune inflammatory illness that affects my mum. The resources and support have helped her immensely, and she now runs a polymyalgia support group in the local area helping other people with the same condition connect with each other.

I'd also like to raise money for NASS, a charity that supports people with Axial Spondyloarthritis. The resources from this charity were incredibly helpful for my boyfriend, James, when he was first diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. An early diagnosis is key to start treatment before irreversible damage occurs and this charity is working towards bringing down diagnosis time and raising awareness.

I'd be very grateful for any spare change you can give to either of these amazing charities and it will help spur me on through the long wintery (and sometimes even snowy) training runs. I would love to be able to give back to two charities that have helped my mum and boyfriend get back to doing the things they love.
