Candy’s Hound Rescue International rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs from the Chinese meat trade, unethical breeding programmes, illegal racetracks and other terrible situations from countries with little or no animal protection laws.

They strive to give these dogs as long, as happy and as healthy a life as possible whilst also providing education to end animal cruelty.

Since the charity was founded in 2017, they have managed to rescue nearly 1000 dogs, however this process is not simple or cheap!

The first step in this rescue process involves getting veterinary care and nutrition to each individual, as these dogs have often been kept in appalling conditions with many having been beaten and starved. Once these dogs are fit enough, they are then transported to one of the charity's overseas boarding kennels where they are given beds, toys and lots of affection to help their rehabilitation before the team then can work to transporting the dogs out of China and onwards to their forever home.
