Raising money for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland
In memory of Mark Hutchinson

CHSS Kelpies Experience · 22 March 2025 ·

We believe that no life should be half lived. 1 in 5 people in Scotland are struggling with a chest, heart or stroke condition. We won't live with that. Join us to support people to live life to the full. #NoLifeHalfLived

Story

I lost the love of my life on 3rd August this year 💔. Mark was my everything; the best husband and dad I could have ever wished for.

We enjoyed a normal Saturday night together as a family then on the Sunday out of nowhere Mark suffered a stroke in the house. He was rushed to A&E where he was quickly given a drug to diffuse the blood clot on his brain. On Monday it looked very much like the drug had done its job and Mark was comfortable, the doctors were even talking about him getting home to recover fully.

However in the early hours of the Wed morning Mark suffered a 2nd stroke which did irreparable damage to his brain and later that day we were told the devastating news that Mark wasn’t going to make it 💔.

Mark passed away peacefully on Saturday 3rd August. How your life can be shattered overnight.Mark was a fit and healthy 52yr old with no underlying conditions, this was completely out of the blue 💔.

My life will never be the same without Mark but I am determined to raise money for the charity CHSS - Chest Heart Stroke Scotland. So many people are living with these conditions and they need support to live their lives as best they can. Many people survive strokes but may need rehabilitation for the rest of their lives. This charity helps these people.

This page is to fundraise for an event my friends and I are doing in March ‘The Kelpies Experience’. This will push me completely out of my comfort zone as we embark on a 25 metre aerial climb on one of the kelpies.

We would appreciate anything you can give to support us. It will be so much appreciated.

Love, Arlene, Christina, Andrew, Amber, Mandy, Rachael, Hannah, Sasha and Heather.
