I am running the Bristol Half Marathon on May 14th 2023 to raise money for 2 charities, Headway Bristol and MIND.

I am running in memory of my brother, Jeremy, who died suddenly in November. He was a talented athlete and cyclist, having represented Wales at Duathlon. As for me, I last ran a half marathon as a teenager - I know my brother would be proud (and a little shocked) at my efforts to train for this event, and if circumstances were different he would be standing next to me on the starting line.

1 in 4 people in the UK suffer with mental illness. MIND is working to make mental health an everyday priority.

Headway Bristol are a charity working to improve life after brain injury. They support adults and their families to work towards achieving long term improvements to the quality of their lives. It is a charity that I have been incredibly proud to work with for many years and am currently Chair of the Board of Trustees, having been a trustee for over 20 years.
