Hi,

Iain and I are both survivors of the scourge of cancer, which affects so many people now, though we have different stories to tell.

The reason we are still here is in no small part down to the care and support we both received from the staff at the Haematology and Oncology Clinic at Perth Royal Infirmary.

The Consultants and Nursing staff at the clinic work tirelessly to provide treatments to many people with all forms of cancer, and also selflessly offer emotional care and support to patients who struggle with the enormity of their situation taking as much time as is needed to give them reassurance and practical advice on the best way to cope.

Iain and I were no exceptions and throughout our periods of treatment, we appreciated how much the clinic provided clinical and emotional support to see us through the hard battle.

No amount of thanks on our part will demonstrate the huge respect and admiration we have for the staff and clinic so we have decided to show our appreciation for them by engaging in the Perth 5km Fun Run on Saturday 11th May 2024.

We both view this as an exciting challenge, cancer, various forms of treatment and significant surgery have all had an impact but we are both determined to do this. Any donations will be gratefully received which will allow the Unit to continue to provide the most amazing service but also to help with the increasing number of patients they are dealing with.
