Story
Between 1 - 31 October RAF Associations fundraisers will be taking on our brand new worldwide community walking challenge to raise funds to support vital welfare for the RAF Association.
Ian and Barry from the Rutland Branch will be adding a little bit of an RAF historical context to the challenge by walking around, through, or near several former (and a couple of current) RAF Stations in the Rutland area including North Luffenham, Cottesmore, Woolfox Lodge, North Witham, Wittering, Barkston Heath, and at least two or three more. Their walking month will culminate with a walk around Oakham visiting RAF memorials and paying our respects to the Commonwealth War Graves in the town.
We plan to walk at least 50 miles during the month, probably more, and aim to raise a fairly modest £100 for the RAF Association, but hopefully more. This will help to provide essential welfare and wellbeing services to those who have served, those currently serving, and the families who stand beside them.
We know people see many requests for charitable donations throughout the year, and we would be very grateful for whatever you can afford; every contribution counts.
