Story
Ellen from Shelter joined our team meeting at the end of last year and gave us an update on their fundraising activities, it shocked me to hear that they were £7m behind on their fundraising so we got to thinking as a team about what we could do to raise money and get out and about more. That’s where the idea came up that, we would “virtually” walk/run to all of our factories in the month of March. Our follow the Ibstock Brick Road challenge is a total of 888 miles and we will be logging all our walks and runs and mapping our progress throughout the month. We are all aiming to raise a minimum of £100 each, which, if we all manage to do it will raise £2,000 match funded by our wonderful company to £4,000.
A home is a fundamental human need and a basic moral right, as vital as education or healthcare. But in Britain today, that right is being denied to millions of people whose lives are blighted by homelessness, bad conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. As 4,750 people sleep on the streets on any given night and 90,000 households are stuck in unsuitable temporary accommodation, such as homeless hostels, we believe we must contribute to the solution through our products, skills and fundraising.
