Innovate Academy's fifth grade class is participating in Bethany Christian Services' virtual walk/run event, May 7th-21st. We believe every child deserves a loving family, and we are excited to partner with Bethany to make that a reality for children in need!

As a class, we are hoping to raise $16,000 in honor of the 16,000 increase in children who have entered the U.S. foster care system since 2010. In 2010, 408,000 children were in the U.S. foster care system. In 2020, that number rose to 424,000 children.

To reach our goal, we will walk/run 9 miles or 9 hours every 9 days because the average age of children in the U.S. foster care system is 9 years old. Most of our classmates are 10 or 11 years old.
