Team fundraising for Children's Bereavement Centre

Raising money for Children's Bereavement Centre

Robin Hood Half Marathon 2026 · 27 September 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Support Team CBC 2026 as they take on the Robin Hood Half Marathon, raising funds to help children across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire get the support they need when facing the death or terminal illness of someone they love.

Story

The International Logistics Centre are swapping transport for trainers for the Robin Hood Half Marathon on behalf of the Children's Bereavement Centre, our chosen charity this year.

Collectively with colleagues we've taken part in other fundraising activities throughout 2026.

We've started a little running group WWW - Wednesday Work Workout to encourage other colleagues to join in, even for those who aren't doing the actual event. Although in its infancy, its been great to see the interest build and has definitely provided some much needed motivation!

As the Children's Bereavement Centre is our chosen charity, it seemed like a natural fit to run this event on their behalf. They are firstly a fantastic bunch of people and secondly an incredible cause that we have the pleasure of supporting.

The Children’s Bereavement Centre offers free support to children, young people and families across Nottinghamshire and into Lincolnshire who are facing the death or terminal illness of someone they love.

They provide one-to-one bereavement counselling, art and play therapy, monthly peer support groups, family programmes, weekend camps, and candlelight remembrance services. They also work with schools to build knowledge and confidence in supporting grieving pupils.

In 2024 1,552 people accessed their services and that number is growing every year.

Here’s how your donation could help:

£10 could fund a comfort bear given to every child accessing support

£25 could pay for one play therapy session for a child

£50 could buy crafts and toys to help children express their grief

£200 could pay for eight sessions of one-to-one bereavement support

If you’re a UK taxpayer, please don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box — it boosts your donation by 25% at no extra cost to you.

Here's the deal. You do the donating, I'll do the running - thanks a million!
