Story
🌟 Why we're taking on Challenge 100 for the Epilepsy Society
Earlier this year, our lives changed in a way we never expected. Our daughter Bethany was diagnosed with epilepsy, and like so many families, we suddenly found ourselves navigating seizures, medication changes, hospital appointments, fear, and hope all at once!
Epilepsy isn’t something you truly understand until it enters your home. It’s more than seizures—it’s uncertainty, adjustment, resilience, and learning a whole new language of medication, triggers, support, and safety. But it’s also strength, determination, and discovering a community of people who understand exactly what you’re facing.
That is why Chris and I have committed to taking part in Epilepsy Society’s Challenge 100 — to raise awareness for the 1 in 100 people living with epilepsy every day in the UK, including my daughter.
If you’re able to donate, your support will help families like ours find answers, hope, and expert care. Every step I take in this challenge is for her, and for everyone learning to live with epilepsy.
💜 How Your Donation Helps
£24 could pay for one of Epilepsy Society’s trained operators to support a caller coping with the daily realities of epilepsy.
£50 could help to prepare vital samples for genetic testing, moving us closer to breakthroughs.
£100 could fund the storage and testing of whole genomes for five individuals, bringing personalised treatments within reach.
Thank you for reading, for caring, for donating, and for helping create a future where epilepsy research can provide answers, treatment, and hope.
Every donation, every share, and every word of encouragement means more than you know 💜
