In January 2025 mums dementia had taken hold and all our worst fears became a reality. The smile that lit up the room, the twinkle in her eyes all but disappeared, although we knew mum was in there somewhere. Even though we knew this day was coming it still shook our world. The amazing woman that we were blessed to call mum, wife and nanna was disappearing before our eyes. This awful disease took, and has continued to take away a little bit of her everyday.

The horrible day that she didn’t recognise us has come and that has been incredibly hard to accept, looking for a little sign that she is still here just hasn’t shown.

What can we do about it? The simple sad answer is currenly nothing, but what myself, my son, my daughter in law and some incredible friends and colleagues at JAG UFS have decided to do is try and help in anyway, this where we have decided to support an amazing charity that is desperately trying to find a cure for the cruelest of diseases, by raising funds and awareness of the amazing work that BRACE DEMENTIA RESEARCH is doing.
