Story
In July we very sadly lost our lovely friend Suzy to bowel cancer.
She was only 42, mum to 3 boys and wife to my cousin Dan. Suzy spent her last few weeks at St Michaels Hospice, Hereford.
The hospice is an amazing place, which relies on charitable donations to exist. It offers free specialist palliative and end of life care.
The hospice offered unbelievable support and care for Suzy and her family at the worst possible time. The staff of trained health care professionals and volunteers, were wonderful, nothing was a problem for them, they even organised a big party for Suzy at the hospice, and the bacon sarnies looked amazing!
In Suzy’s words,
“This place is Amazing, the staff, the surroundings, just incredible!”
“Over here, literally the magic happens, its about calm, and time to rest. Everyone is on hand with my exact needs at the right time. It gives my family a small break as well”
Whenever we visited Suzy at the hospice we were very taken with how friendly and caring everyone was and how much the Hospice meant to Suzy and her family. The Hospice is a hugely important place.
So Thomas and I have decided to do a bit of fundraising for this amazing place, and on Sept the 24th we will be setting off at 7am from Hay on Wye to walk 26.2miles along the Wye valley to Hereford. We would love to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful place so it can continue it’s amazing work.
So please sponsor us…….
